Police Officer In Manasquan Assaulted; Borough Man Indicted, Charged

A 47-year-old local man has been indicted and charged with assaulting a police officer in Manasquan, according to Monmouth County Courthouse records.

Sean Minehan was charged with aggravated assault because he allegedly attempted to cause, "or purposely knowingly, or recklessly" cause bodily injury to a law enforcement officer on Oct. 4, according to court records.

In the March 12 indictment, he was also charged with threatening to commit "a crime of violence with the purpose to terrorize" a person with the initials "T.S.," according to court records.

Minehan also was charged with resisting arrest, allegedly obstructing the officer's duties by "threatening to use physical force or violence," according to court records.
