What a nasty comment, and sorry Ken, you're wrong. "Dredging the bay will have NO EFFECT on the flooding". Duuurrrrr. There are now millions of tons of sand and debris in the bay, sandbars, small mountains of sand that weren't there before that, believe it or not, are so substantial they are actually changing the way water flows in and out of the bay. May be hard to wrap your head around but it's true. Dredging (and it will have to be a massive operation) will fix it.

ReplyHa, I am not anti gun, I don't like the climate of gun obsession that has taken over alot of peoples minds. I would consider owning a handgun for protection, I wouldn't worry too much about being targeted for a break in. I don't think there is an organized group of criminals intent on stealing guns ,sorry. I have family members who own guns, they have them in a safe place, they don't talk about them, they're not obsessed with them, they're not afraid that someone is going to take them away. Stop worrying so much about your guns, put some of that mental activity into your family, your relationships and the civilization that you are fortunate to be apart of. And I totally agree in a way with the privacy issue but, gun owners own a deadly weapon, it's purpose is to kill something. I'm not saying it should be published in the paper but obviously over time now, serious changes need to and are going to happen. It's no longer the 1700's, sorry only the active military gets to use assault weapons . If a private gun owner finds himself in a situation where a handgun or a rifle is not adequate , well then, you must be Rambo.

On the article Rible: No Public Release Of Handgun Owners' Names

ReplyBe clear about the real reason for this bill. Rible is pandering to a certain segment of the population that believe the NRA rhetoric 'the government is going to take our guns away!'. Sorry but I can't imagine any reasonable law abiding gun owner having a problem with this information being public, and I think the excuse that this protects gun owners from being targeted by thieves intent on stealing guns is a little thin, a little ridiculous.

ReplyThis bill is driven by the paranoid , 'The guvermint is gonna take our guns' idea. No reasonable politician would support this bill , these assemblymen are pandering to the gun nuts and the vulnerable people who believe and parrot the NRA rhetoric, Obama's gonna take our guuunnns!! No reasonable, law abiding gun owner would care if that information is public, shame on these hack assemblymen.

ReplyWhat does the second half of the story have to do with the first? The second part describes something that happened 3 months ago and doesn't support the first part of the story which has to do with current events or the need for reinstatement of the curfew.
