Manasquan High School has a College Readiness Index of 31.7, as identified by U.S. News and World Report. The report outlines the math and language proficiency, and shows the student-teacher ratio and other facts about the high school. Ocean City High School captures title in rescheduled NSSA Northeast Championship.
The National Scholastic Surfing Association Northeast Championship went off six months late, but the result was the same: Ocean City High School captured the title for the 19th consecutive year on Sunday at First Street Beach. Finishing in second place were the Manasquan Warriors thanks in part to Liam Mahoney taking the top prize in the longboard. The annual championship for high school teams in the region had originally been scheduled for Oct. 28 in Seaside Heights, but at that time, Hurricane Sandy was a day away from making a direct hit on the Jersey Shore. Winter break begins Dec. 23. Spring break is April 14.
Next school year for Manasquan students is now approved, with winter break coming Dec. 23 and spring break starting April 14 for 2013-14. The next school calendar has 180 days of class. School begins Sept. 4 and the last day of class is scheduled for June 19, 2014. If there are any weather emergencies, Jan. 20 will be used as a make-up day. Meeting in Manasquan High School
Gov. Chris Christie will host his next town hall meeting on Thursday March 21 in Manasquan High School. With more than 100 town halls held state-wide during his term as governor, Christie will aim to again recreate his conversational event Thursday, opening with a speech and then taking audience questions. The event will be held in the gymnasium of Manasquan High School, 167 Broad Street, Manasquan, NJ 08736. Doors will open at 3:15 p.m. and the event is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. Seating is on a first come, first serve basis and open to the public. Please RSVP by clicking here.

Feb. 9 girls basketball game will air Feb. 13
Mark your calendar: A local girls basketball game between Saint Rose and Manasquan High School will air on MSG Varsity. The Feb. 9 game will air 9:30 p.m. Feb. 13. The channel announced: "MSG Varsity has announced the New Jersey high school games that will be televised for the first half of February. The network will televise thirty-one events featuring New Jersey teams— including Boys and Girls Basketball games, Ice Hockey games and as Wrestling matches. MHS-TV looking for video submissions
If you've shot some interesting video before, during or after Hurricane Sandy in Manasquan, local students are looking for you. A new project will pair video submissions and interesting features to create a documentary on Hurricane Sandy. The Manasquan High School television program along with the borough's television advisory committee are working together to create a four-part documentary on the storm's impact to the community. They are looking for submissions from the community to aid in the project. It’s time to stoke those longstanding rivalries, because the annual Wall vs. Manasquan Thanksgiving Day Football Game is coming up. Tickets for the Thanksgiving Day Football Game against Wall will be sold at the Board of Education office, 169 Broad Street, on Monday and Tuesday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and on Wednesday between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. Tickets are $5.00. Game Day Gates open at 9 a.m. Kickoff is at 11 a.m. In case of rain, the game will be postponed to Saturday, Nov. 24, at 1 p.m. Parking at Manasquan High School on Game Day will be limited only to handicapped spaces. The way I'm reading it is 35% of Manasquan highschool 12th grade students are taking advanced placement courses. Only those students took the test and most passed it (30.7%). That percentage is above average for New Jersey.   more ›
