Ocean Avenue in Belmar south of 13th Avenue is also currently closed for the final days of boardwalk reconstruction there. Construction crews are present throughout the length of Ocean Avenue in Belmar to install railings and beachfront playgrounds throughout the week.

Main Street, Ocean Avenue bridges could open within a week
Two major detours in Belmar with the closed Main Street and Ocean Avenue bridges have been in place for weeks, but borough officials hope the spans will reopen within the week. Belmar Business Administrator Colleen Connolly said the two bridges are not municipal bridges. Ocean Avenue is a county bridge and the Main Street bridge is overseen by the state as its a state road. Connolly said that the borough had been discussing with both state and county road departments to see when the two bridges would reopen. She said repairs on the Main Street bridge should be completed within a week and would reopen shortly thereafter. It was a similar time frame on the Ocean Avenue bridge, she said.
