Drunken driving, a minor accident and active warrants among charges
An afternoon accident on Route 138 and Allenwood Road led to the arrest of a Howell man on drunken driving charges, police said. Nicholas B. Dzielak, 25, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after the vehicle he was driving struck the rear of another vehicle stopped at the intersection’s traffic light around 5:29 p.m., Sgt. Michael Tozer said. Wall Police arrested and charged four other people Sunday, Tozer said. Keri M. Johnson, 46, of Glen Rock, Bergen County, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop on Belmar Boulevard near New Bedford Road around 3:39 p.m., Tozer said. Catalina Londono, 28, of Bloomfield, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated around 4:23 p.m. …

Belmar police last month made two arrests for alleged drunken driving, authorities said. During the second-half of August, police charged a Basking Ridge man and a Neptune City resident with DWI in separate incidents, according to a release from Belmar police. Gregory Bock, 23, of Basking Ridge, was arrested Aug. 15 at 13th Avenue and E Street, the release says. Officer Michael Yee made the arrest. Joseph Byrne, 32, of Neptune City, was arrested Aug. 23 at 18th and Surf Avenues, the release says. Special Officer Harrison Theibault made the arrest. Both individuals were charged with DWI, the release says.

Police charged Toms River woman with assault by auto, among other charges
A Spring Lake Heights man suffered neck and back injuries after a collision backing out of a driveway on Allaire Road Saturday, police said. Matthew Muench, 47, was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, by Wall First Aid & Rescue after a Toms River woman hit Muench’s car as he backed out of an Allaire Road driveway west of Route 35 around 8:20 p.m., Sgt. Patrick Connor said. Sharon Young, 28, of Toms River was traveling west on Allaire road when she struck Muench’s car, Connor said. Young was charged with driving while intoxicated, assault by auto, reckless driving and for having an open container of alcohol in the car, Connor said.

Wall Police report several arrests overnight Monday
Three Manasquan teens were arrested on minor drug charges, a Brick man was arrested and charged with drunken driving and a Manahawkin woman was picked up on an outstanding warrant overnight Monday, police said. Lauro Guzman, 19, Jairo Garcia, 19, and a male 15-year-old – all of Manasquan -- were arrested and charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia around 10:51 p.m. Monday at Orchard Park, Sgt. Kenneth Brown said. Carlos Pereira, 24, of Brick was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop around 1:32 a.m. The location of the stop was not immediately available. Son of longtime, former Asbury Park Press publisher drives car into bushes
The son of the former publisher of the Asbury Park Press was arrested and charged Monday with drunken driving after running his car off the road and into some bushes. Jules L. Plangere III, 67, of River Road in town, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated around 8:10 p.m. by Patrolman Mike Malone, Sgt. Frank Lancellotti said. Police responded to a call that a car near the Atlantis Diner on Route 35 South near Old Bridge Road had left the road and hit some bushes in the lot of the restaurant. Malone found a disoriented Plangere had lost control of his white BMW 528 and crashed into the shrubery. Task force to pull over drivers and check for sobriety
The Monmouth County DWI Task force will conduct a drunk driving checkpoint on Route 34 overnight Friday. Officers from the task force and Wall Township Police will pull cars from the northbound lanes of Route 34 into the Investors Savings Bank parking lot from 11 p.m. Friday through 3 a.m. Saturday, said Brielle Police chief Michael W. Palmer, task force coordinator.

Traffic stops yield arrests for possession
Two local men were arrested on drug charges following traffic stops in town Monday, police said. Brian Moore, 27, of Belmar, was arrested and charged around 9:15 p.m. with Driving while intoxicated, possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop on Route 35, Sgt. Attorney frequently before zoning and planning boards arrested Tuesday
A Manasquan man was arrested and charged with drunken driving Tuesday night, police said. Timothy B. Middleton, 52, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated around 9:45 p.m. following a traffic stop on Route 35 near Lakewood Road, Sgt. Frank Lancellotti said. Middleton was charged and released to the custody of a friend, Lancellotti said. Middleton, an attorney whose office is just off the intersection where he was stopped by the police, frequently represents clients before the Wall Township Planning and zoning boards.
