Traffic Stops Lead to Drug Arrests on Route 71

Police nab area people for marijuana, heroin possession

Wall Police recently made several arrests for illegal drug possession as a result of traffic stops on Route 71, authorities said. Cynthia G. Mapp, 48, and George A. Mapp III, both of Brielle, were arrested and charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana following a traffic stop on Route 71 around 9:32 p.m. Jan. 25, Sgt. Steven Wolter said. Zoe F. McDermott, 18, of Belmar, was arrested and charged with illegal possession of prescription medication following a traffic stop on Route 71 around 11:10 p.m. Jan. 25, Wolter said. Christopher Callahan, 23, of Brick, was arrested and charged with possession of heroin and Suboxone following a traffic stop on Route 35 around 1:55 a.m. Jan 26, Wolter said.

Manasquan, Howell Residents Indicted on Drugs, Weapons Charges

Charges stem from August incident

A group of six Howell residents and a Manasquan man were indicted by a Monmouth County grand jury this week on drug charges. A total of seven charges stemming from an incident in August of 2012 were handed up by a grand jury. Kevin Keeton, and Laura A. Adamavage, both 22 and Jennifer Stephenson, 59, were indicted on one count of third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance. On or about Aug. 17, 2012, they were found to be in possession of heroin in the township, according to court documents. The three were also indicted on one count of fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon for being in possession of knives at the time.
