UPDATE: New location: White Sands, Point Beach
The Small Business Administration (SBA) and FEMA will explain how businesses damaged by Sandy should apply for financial assistance at a meeting on Monday at the White Sands. The Point Pleasant Chamber of Commerce and the Point Pleasant Beach Chamber of Commerce are welcoming business owners and managers from across Ocean and Monmouth counties to attend the session from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Monday at the White Sands, 1205 Ocean Ave., Point Beach. The Point Pleasant Chamber on Saturday had announced in an email to all members that the meeting would be with SBA at the chamber office, 2810 Bridge Ave., Point Pleasant Borough. Event will be held at Martell's, Point Beach
Beer on the Boards will be held from 12:30 to 9:30 p.m. Nov. 3 at Martell's on the boardwalk in Point Beach. Those who want to attend are urged to purchase tickets in advance. The Point Pleasant Beach Chamber of Commerce, which will receive a percentage of the proceeds from the event, is encouraging all to attend. The event will be held rain or shine. There are "beer drinker" sessions, where the price includes beer and a food buffet, and "designated driver" sessions, where no alcoholic beverages are included, but food and non-alcoholic drinks are part of the purchase price. Farmer's Market opens for third year at Miller Preston Way in Manasquan
Much to the delight of local residents, the Manasquan Farmer’s Market sponsored by Manasquan Chamber of Commerce opened June 30 on Miller Preston Way. Unlike a lot of farmer’s markets, Manasquan’s features primarily local farms and establishments, and offers a great deal of organic produce. “We decided to start three years ago – a lot of the people in town asked us to have a farmer’s market, and we decided it was a good idea,” stated Laura Gilardini, chamber secretary, who noted all proceeds go back to the nine vendors at the market. This past Sunday afternoon, many individuals from near and far came to Manasquan with large appetites, eager to participate in the borough’s second annual Taste of Manasquan restaurant tour. This tour, organized by the Manasquan Chamber of Commerce, saw twenty local restaurants opening their doors to the public to sample a wide variety of cuisine. Many began the tour at Manasquan Lighting on Main Street. At this location, attendees were able to purchase wristbands for $25, and this wristband was their admission to all of the restaurants located on the tour. Laura Gilardini, Executive Director of the Manasquan Chamber of Commerce, noted that prior to the day, 200 tickets were sold for the event, and she expected a great deal more to sign up…

Bradley Chamber of Commerce event features delectable foods from local restaurants
The Bradley Beach Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with The Passion Group of Asbury Park, presented the first “Taste of Bradley Beach” on a glorious sunny day May 21 at Riley Park, Main Street. The eight-hour event featured various foods from 12 restaurateurs – most from Bradley Beach – several craft vendors, beer and wine, live music, face painting, clowns and various children’s activities. The Bradley Chamber – which will receive a percentage of the proceeds – was quite pleased with the festival, which had a turnout of 1,800 by mid-afternoon. “I think this is a nice event. Well worth the $50 dollars. Last year, the food was real good and the beer selection was pretty phenomenal, especially for a lil' ol' Point Pleasant Beach event. Looking to be that way again. PS- This isn't some drunken 'Jersey Shore'-style shot slinging/red bull & vodka event...this is good people enjoying fine craft beers!! Cheers...   more ›
