A Glendola Road resident arrived home to find a burglary in progress, and police used a foot chase with K9 officers to find two suspects who had fled, Wall Police said. Chief Robert L. Brice said police responded to the home around 1:40 p.m. Sunday to a report of a burglary in progress between Belmar and Monmouth boulevards. "The burglary was interrupted by the resident who was arriving home. Two suspects were described by area residents, a female suspect that fled on foot out of the back of the house and a male suspect that fled in a silver pick up truck," said Brice in a police statement. Man took landscaping equipment after being fired, police say
A disgruntled worker fired by a Wall Township businessman returned the next day to steal $5,000 and tried to pawn it at a local shop, police said. Todd Kane, 31, of Belmar, was arrested by Wall Township Police Friday and charged with two counts of burglary and a single count of theft after he stole landscaping equipment off the property of a West 18th Avenue resident. The resident, who was not identified by police, owns a business and had fired Kane the previous day, Sgt. Erik Ertle said. Kane, who was fired on Thursday from the business owned by the Wall resident, burglarized a truck and a trailer parked on the resident’s property and took several chain saws and blowers from a locked trailer, Ertle said. Marlboro police charged Michael Thoma, 23 of Manasquan this week in connection with multiple burglaries committed between August and September of 2012. In August, Thoma, who previously had a New Brunswick address, allegedly gained entry to two homes in Marlboro through an unlocked back door. County reports do not indicate what, if anything was stolen at that time. In September, Thoma allegedly entered two Marlboro Township homes, stealing a combined $35,000 worth of jewelry. Thoma was arrested at the end of September by police after allegedly burglarizing five homes in Marlboro and allegedly stealing $17,000 worth of jewelry from a Manalapan home. Two Wall men were arrested and charged following a break-in at a Route 34 retailer, police said. Vincent Petrucelli, 20, of Shadowbrook Drive and Christopher Hayes, 19, of Sea Girt Ave., were arrested and charged in connection with the Tuesday night burglary of Bill’s Work Clothes, 2369 Route 34, Lt. Walter Pomphrey said. Police arrived at the clothing retailer around 9:45 p.m. after an alarm at the store had been tripped, alerting authorities. Officers spotted a black pickup truck in the lot and a man fleeing into the woods behind the store. More police arrived, along with a K-9 unit. An Arizona man is scheduled to appear in two local municipal courts next week after police say he burglarized a local animal hospital and made off with various prescription drugs. Police say Christopher R. Haas, 29, of Surprise, Ariz., broke into Belmar Wall Animal Hospital on Belmar Boulevard in Wall and stole vials of ketamine and a narcotic cough syrup, acccording to the criminal complaint. Haas is scheduled to appear Oct. 18 in Spring Lake Heights municipal court on narcotic possession charges, and Oct. 16 in Wall municipal court on the burglary charges, the complaint says. A Manasquan resident this week was charged with burglarizing the borough's Department of Public Works (DPW) building, authorities said. Marc T. North, 24, of Manito Road, is scheduled to appear in Municpal Court Oct. 24 at 9 a.m. facing allegations he stole more than $500 worth of materials from the DPW building on Iriquois Road, according to the criminal complaint. North is charged with burglary, theft and concealing the stolen items in the basement of his home, in the 60 block of Manito Road, the complaint says. Police say North committed the alleged crime on Oct. 5. He is being held at Monmouth County jail on $75,000 bail, the complaint says.

Man pictured broke into a home in the south end of town in August
Police are looking for a man in connection with a burglary in Wall and are asking for the public’s help locating the man they say is part of a two-man team that broke into a home in August. Wall police are looking for a Hispanic male in his late teens or early 20s, standing between 5-foot 8-inches to 5-foot 10-inches with a slender build, short dark hair and a flat face. He was wearing a baseball cap and had a small diamond earrings in both ears, Lt. Walter Pomphrey said. While residents on vacation, youths use home for party
A group of local teens has been charged with burglary and theft for allegedly using an unoccupied Manasquan home to throw a house party, police said. While its residents were on vacation, three teenagers from Spring Lake, Manasquan and Brielle were arrested Aug. 15 after police responded to calls from neighbors of the North Jackson Avenue home, Chief Elliott Correia said. The youths allegedly used a ladder to climb into a second-story window to gain access to the home. Once inside, the teens partied for two nights, drinking the homeowners' liquor, Correia said. Manasquan police report several recent thefts, two burglaries
Manasquan police the last two weeks have responded to several reports of thefts, including eight bikes, two purses and a set of tools, authorities said. There also was a burglary reported late last month on Fletcher Avenue, and another Aug. 9 on Beachfront, according to a release from the Manasquan Police Department. Bike thefts are an ongoing problem in the borough, and police have asked residents to make sure their bikes are locked up or stored in a safe place, like a garage or home. Residents can also register their bikes at the police department and in any other towns they frequent. Most bikes in town are stolen when they're not locked up, Police Chief Elliott Correia has said. A Tinton Falls man is charged with burglarizing a Belmar dentist's office earlier this week, documents show. Police say Eric M. Shavelson, 23, of Desmoines Court, smashed the front window of the office at 835 Belmar Mall Plaza. The practice belongs to Clinton H. Ives Jr., DMD, records show. Shavelson remained inside the office until police arrived, the criminal complaint says. He is charged with burglary and criminal mischief, the complaint says. Shavelson is due to appear in municipal court on the charges Aug. 15 at 1 p.m., the complaint says. His bail was set by Judge Dennis Lavender at $12,500 with no ten-percent option, the complaint says.
