Mabrey scores 35 in Beach win
Marina Mabrey scored 35 points as Point Pleasant Beach beat St. Rose 69-68 in a game that came down to the final second. Mabrey's teammate, Katelynn Flaherty scored 21 on Thursday night. St. Rose led through much of the first half on the strength of their 3-point shooting but PPB rallied to take a 35-33 lead at the break. Cindy Napolitano of St. Rose hit on six 3-point shots to score 18 points. Teammate Sarah Kurtz scored 19.
Tim Burke is out to change the way high school athletes get recruited by combining their skills on the court and in the classroom

Burke, a Manasquan resident, has grown up with a love for basketball. He played the game through high school and college and is currently an assistant coach on the boys basketball team at Manasquan High School.
