Week Ahead: The Last Un-official Week Of Summer

They all go home after this week.

This is it.

It’s the last unofficial week of summer, closing, as it does, with the long Labor Day Weekend.

After this week, it will still be sunny and warm and you’ll be able to find parking everywhere.

And it’s almost as though the whole shore from Belmar to Manasquan has left the week open to enjoy the last week before school starts, before the season begins to turn.

In Belmar, there are no municipal meetings this week. The Board of Education, gearing up for school next week, is holding its August meeting on Thursday, beginning at 7 p.m. at Belmar Elementary School, 1101 Main St.

St. Rose Grammar school wins the Early Bird Award, beginning it’s school year with a “Meet and Greet’’ on Wednesday morning. See their website for more information.

St. Rose High School kicks off a two-day Freshman orientation on Tuesday.

The movies on the beach series continues Saturday with “Field of Dreams’’ shown at dusk on the 8th avenue beach.

In Manasquan, the Recreation Committee is the sole school district or municipal body scheduled to meet this week. They are scheduled to convene at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at town hall.
