Comic Sale at Monmouth Mall to Benefit Monmouth Medical Center

Sale set for Sept. 22

On Saturday, Sept. 22, from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m., Barnabas Health Hospice and Palliative Care Center (BHHPCC) will present Superheroes for Hospice, a comic book sale and show.

The event will be held at the Monmouth Mall Food Court located at 180 Rt. 35 in Eatontown. Proceeds benefit patients and families served by the BHHPCC Inpatient Unit at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch. To date the event has raised more than $30,000 to assist individuals and families with a life-limiting illness.

Thousands of comic books will be on sale including books for children and adults, as well as graphic novels. Scheduled to appear are a variety of comic book creators, sketch artists and caricaturists including Rick Parker, Artist, Diary of a Stinky Dead Kid and Harry Potty and the Deathly Boring; Paul Castiglia, Writer/Editor, Archie, DC, Dark Horse and Droop Dog; David Ryan, Writer/Artist, War of the Independents; Thom Hall, Writer and Co-creator of the award-winning R-13 and King!; and Matthew Shockley, Josh Shockley and James Dufenbach of PLB Comics.

Monmouth County resident and mural artist, Mike Ciccotello, a member of the non-profit artist collective Albus Canvus, will also attend to paint several large canvas murals for auction at the conclusion of the sale.
