Risk of Dangerous Rip Currents Friday

National Weather Service warning of moderate risk along NJ coast

The National Weather Service is warning swimmers along the Jersey Shore Friday to be wary of "dangerous" rip currents. 

The service has issued a hazardous weather outlook regarding rip tides along the entirety of the New Jersey Coast for Friday morning through evening. 

Sea and wind conditions could cause dangerous currents along the entire coast, the warning says.

"There is a chance sea and wind conditions will produce a moderate risk of dangerous rip currents along the New Jersey coast today," the warning says. 

The warning is in effect from today through this evening.

Already during this young summer season, several swimmers have  while many more have been from rip currents along the Jersey Shore.
