Streaking BlueClaws Return Home Tonight

Local team on three game roll

After winning the last three of a four game set at the Greensboro Grasshoppers the Lakewood BlueClaws will be looking to build on their success when they return home to First Energy Park for a seven game home stand.

The Delmarva Shore Birds will be their first guests for a three game series with tonight's first pitch set for 6:35 p.m. It is also the first "Belmar night" featuring Mayor Matt Doherty throwing out the first pitch and local organizations on the concourse.

The first 2000 fans through the gates will get a BlueClaws All-Star poster and it is also one of five Scout Nights at the ballpark. As with every Monday home game it is also a kids eat free night at the park.

If the seats at the stadium are too hard for you, the first 2000 fans at Tuesday's game will get seat cushions. It is also a Senior Day Tuesday when all seniors eat free and there is also baseball bingo as part of the night. It is also Boating and Fishing Night including displays, promotions and other activities throughout the contest.

Wednesday's game will have a special 11:05 start and the first 2000 fans 17-and-under will get a strip of all-star player cards.

The Grasshoppers will be looking to even things up with a four game set starting Thursday night. The 6:35 game is also Home and Garden Night which will include displays from local builders and landscapers. It is also Thirsty Thursday with $1 beer and soda at the Coors Light WRAT Trap.

After Friday's game fans will be treated to a fireworks display and the night and it is also Teacher Appreciation Night. The weekend continues with a 4:05 game on Saturday and the first 2000 fans will get visors to help block out the late setting sun. The concourse will also feature vendors for Get Fit! Night and there will also be a pre-game fitness program.

Women and Children will be the main attraction of the final game at home when Brobee from Yo Gabba Gabba will join Buster at the stadium. The first 2000 women will also receive a free flower just for coming to the game.

Following Sunday's game the BlueClaws will head down to Delmarva for three games before four games in West Virginia. They will return home to close out the month on May 27 starting with three games against the Shore Birds.

There is just over a month to go until the team plays host to the South Atlantic League All-Star Game which is scheduled to be held on June 27. Even with their recent success the BlueClaws have struggled to see success so far as they are currently in last place in the Northern Division with a 13-22 record. That puts them eight games behind the division leading Hagerstown Suns and two games behind the Kannapolis Intimidators who sit ahead of them in the standings.
