SATURDAY FOOTBALL ROUNDUP: Manasquan Falls to Long Branch

A roundup of Shore Conference football

Results of Saturday's high school football games, gathered from nj.com, app.com and All Shore Media:

Long Branch 18, Manasquan 13: Joe Fittin rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown, and quarterback Connor Grogan threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Mark Schatzman, but the Warriors were unable to hold off the visiting Green Wave.

Joscil Jackson rushed for 174 yards and a touchdown, Avery Griffin passed for a score and Brett Roach had a 71-yard kickoff return for a touchdown for Long Branch.

Point Boro 27, Monmouth 14: Quarterback Chris Oliphant rushed for 70 yards and three touchdowns and Ryan Prout rushed for a score as the Panthers downed the host Golden Falcons in Tinton Falls. Kurt VanBenschoten had 10 tackles on defense for Point Boro.

Quarterback Jeff Farrah ran for a touchdown for Monmouth but missed the second half after being taken to the hospital for severe dehydration, according to allshoremedia.net.

Colts Neck 14, Toms River East 7: Mike Campbell's 8-yard touchdown pass to Giovanni Zefferrino with less than two minutes left in the game lifted the host Cougars to victory over the Raiders. Campbell also passed for a 42-yard touchdown to Tim Vangelas.

Mike Gudzak scored on a 70-yard touchdown run for Toms River East.

Toms River North-Howell: The game between the host Mariners and the Rebels that was scheduled for Saturday night was postponed to Sunday at 1 p.m. due to the predicted storms.

Red Bank Catholic 47, Red Bank 0: The Caseys, coming off a 2011 season where they were the top team in the Shore Conference, opened with an easy victory over the Buccaneers in Little Silver. Jesse Flaherty and Michael Cordova combined for three rushing touchdowns and quarterback Patrick Toomey passed for two more in the shutout.
