St. Rose Student Headed to Wresting Nationals

Alec Donovan will represent New Jersey in Junior Olympic competition

A young grappler from St. Rose is on his way to the big show.

Eighth grader Alec Donovan, 14, of Brick, will be competing in the Junior Olympic National Duals in Indianapolis, Indiana on June 8. He will compete in the 128 pound weight class.

The nine-year wrestling veteran trains at Shore Thing Wrestling Club under head coach Vinny Santaniello. He also recently won the Intermediate Division of the Mid-Atlantic Wrestling Assocation Eastern Nationals.

Unfortunately, Donovan will miss his eighth grade graduation ceremony due to the wrestling tournament.
