Squan Students Plan Hurricane Sandy Documentary Project

MHS-TV looking for video submissions

If you've shot some interesting video before, during or after Hurricane Sandy in Manasquan, local students are looking for you.

A new project will pair video submissions and interesting features to create a documentary on Hurricane Sandy.

The Manasquan High School television program along with the borough's television advisory committee are working together to create a four-part documentary on the storm's impact to the community.

MHS-TV along with the Borough of Manasquan’s Television Advisory Committee is in the process of creating a documentary of the recent “Superstorm Sandy.”

According to Lee Weisert, Manasquan’s Director of Television Services,

“the video will be in four segments: first, the events leading up to Sandy’s arrival; second, the actual strike of the storm; third the aftermath, and fourth; the recovery and plans for the future.”

Each section will contain actual live video, recorded newscasts, on-site photos, and interviews with local responders and citizens.

If you have interesting pictures, especially video, or interesting stories about your experiences, please contact Mr. Weisert either at Manasquan High School (732.528.8820, ext. 1568), or through email:lweisert@manasquanboe.org.

We hope this will be a community effort and a video documentary which will ultimately be a historical reference of what happened here in the fall of 2012, and how we as a greater community came together as one to rebuild and renew our communities.
