No Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday For 'Squan Students

The Manasquan School District has taken back a planned day off in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday to make up for the weather-forced cancelation of school on Jan. 3.

The school district had planned to give students Jan. 20 off for the federal holiday in celebration of the slain civil rights leader's birthday, but instead schools will hold a regular school day, according to the district website.

Students will still receive February 10-14 off for "Winter Recess,'' according to the site.

you think that a day off to celebrate Martin Luther King is more silly than celebrating "Winter Recess"?

I totally agree on this..there is no reason to have this day off of school..and i can think of a few other days they should take away too.
