Manasquan Picks New Interim Superintendent for New School Year

New Squan Interim Superintendent Was Previously Shore Regional's Superintendent

The former interim superintendent of Shore Regional Schools was tapped to be the next interim superintendent of Manasquan School District.

Renae LaPrete, of Wall, was appointed the Principal/Interim Superintendent of Shore Regional High School on June 28, 2011, shortly after former superintendent Leonard Schnappauf announced his retirement after holding the position for 15 years. She served through August 2012.

LaPrete now joins Manasquan School District as its interim superintendent for the new school year, with its business year starting July 1.

A special executive meeting of the Manasquan school board Thursday picked LaPrete for the interim role. The next public board meeting of the Manasquan school board is June 25.

In September 2012, the board unanimously confirmed Robert J. Mahon as acting superintendent of schools, hours after district staff were notified that former schools chief Geraldine Margin was going on administrative leave effective immediately.

Mahon, the current mayor of Avon-By-The-Sea who also served as interm superintendent of the Spring Lake Heights school district through June, has been earning a state-mandated fee of $605.77 per day as acting schools chief, officials said.

At a spring school board meeting, Mahon advised the district to find another interim superintendent if it had not named a superintendent by the time his one-year contract was up.

The board began searching for an interim superintendent, as the seach for the next superintendent runs concurrently.

At the previous board meeting, the consulting firm hired to outline what the district wants in a superintendent gave an initial report on its findings.

I wish you success and strength Ms. LaPrete. The staff and public will need you to bring calm and order back to a district that appears to be at the mercy of a runaway board. Be wary of the board member who stated in a Coast Star article that he couldn't "recall" having tea with you. The current board majority seems to condone his behavior. I hope you recognize it for what it is. In a word "destructive".

Translation: Ms. LaPrete, let me be clear as I was not genuine earlier (still not since I won’t use my name). I am a former board president. I don’t like you. I have no reason not to other than others do and Carol has paralyzed our staff into thinking they could be held accountable under you. They don’t like that idea, it is a foreign concept to them. I’m sorry I acted like I would meet you, then denied all culpability for knowing about the “tea party.” I know it’s in writing, I just keep denying it. Even though "truth is in writing" with your resume, etc. You see, us former board presidents are haters. We hate everyone and everything. We truly hate each other. The only thing we hate MORE than each other is people doing successful things in the district because we never could. I’m sorry I missed you today when I was in the office trying to secure an OPRA to defend Mrs. Verdi's (she’s the one that blurted out your name in public after you were promised confidentiality) claim that you were inappropriately hired by this terrible, nasty, deceitful board. So, you should listen to me, and the newspaper that has lied about you and defamed you already. If you do that, follow the herd NOT your integrity, you will truly be part of keeping Manasquan, Manasquan. Of course, Mrs Margin did that too, and we all know how well that worked for her. Remember, everyone except me and the people I tell you to trust are bad, bad people. Signed, It’s My Money

@local reader... Not sure what your problem is. All I know is if Ms. La Prete listens to the staff and community, she will know her first priority is restoring respect. Our staff and community are doing their part. Let's hope the board allows her to do her job rather then some members' personal agenda. As I said before, I wish her success! p.s. you went way beyond "arm chair quarterback" local reader.

Listen to the staff and the community? No mention of the kids? As a parent I'm offended by your blinders. I don't think someone with this experience needs to be told who to listen to or what to do.

Karma comes after everyone eventually. You can't get away with screwing people over your whole life, I don't care who you are. What goes around comes around. That's how it works. Sooner or later the universe will serve you the revenge that you deserve.”

Between him and his girlfriend Crayce Murphy who is now is running for the vacant seat ...yes as absurd as that sounds to everyone. Will he ask Rebecca next??? The three of them can sit on their computers and flag posts to keep it all secret. About as secret as the fact that he dips at meetings.

Translation of Local Reader: Dear Interem Who I Fondly Refer To As "The Hatchet", Though we could start with the hypocrisy of me mocking someone else who doesn't use their real name, though I don't either- we can move on from that.I'll give you a warning bc though I may be a master manipulator, most in this town &sending districts are on to me, but they really underestimate me. I'll give my dying breath to bring this district to its knees. I befriend those who I need, email them individually to make them feel "special" while sending others similar coorispondence "for their eyes only". I trade my cut throat tactics that benefit them for their blind loyalty.I really have no problem violating the NJ Dept of Ed Code of Ethics bc you & I know it will take them so long to catch up with me &really even when they do...c'mon what are they going to do to me?!? I have files on every single BOE member & a lot of the employees as well. I have no problem turning on any one of them if I need to. I really don't have any true friends. My relationships are to serve me. Plain and simple.Remember you owe ME for where you will be 7/1 & don't you forget it- I'll remind you daily if you chose to veer off the course that Miss Brielle & I told you we were heading down. I know we told you lies as to why our Ex-Pres wasn't in attendance but really I am sure you have figured out my true character by now- do you think I give a damn about lying. Don't worry Miss Brielle at this point will take a bullet for me. She will make calls on my behalf- she will stand up at meetings and pledge her undying....um commitment. If you ever need support from Quiet D in writing don't worry about that- I have full access to his accounts & in meetings he will always say "whatever MS wants". I mean I trashed his longtime friend &he still never questioned me.Heck he picked up my tab the other night when we visited our new favorite watering hole where I leave pretty good tips for our new favorite bar tender- who, lucky for me, has a really short memory bc I have been trashing him for years.Don't be fooled, anything that comes out of Commander in Chief's mouth is gone over before it happens. Nothing is said or done without approval from me.Make sure you stay on your toes &I expect you to stay in line. You cross me and you will pay unmercifully, excuse me while I put in a dip.Signed Your "Tea Party" Buddy
