Manasquan contracting firm to handle plaza makeover project

The Manasquan Borough Council last week awarded a borough firm a $1.29 million contract for the Squan Plaza renovation project.

Manasquan-based Mark Woszczak Mechanical Contractors submitted the winning bid for the major project that will repair the plaza's infrastructure and improve aesthetics at Abe Vorhees Drive.

The borough will pay the contractor $1,294,393.50, according to the resolution approving the deal.

Borough Engineer Charlie Rooney, of T&M Associates, said that a timetable on construction would not be clear until the contractor submitted a plan to the borough.

Officials would then review the plan and make any possible changes, Rooney said.
