This week the Manasquan Borough Council, School Board and Belmar Borough Council are set to meet Tuesday and Wednesday nights, respectively, officials said.
The Manasquan Borough Council and mayor are scheduled to begin their work session at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at Borough Hall, 401 East Main Street.
The School Board is scheduled to meet 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, in the High School media room.
The work session agenda includes a resolution to appoint Robert J. Mahon, the disctrict's acting superintendent, to interim superintendent retroactively effective Nov. 1.
The board will also vote on a resolution to donate all proceeds from the Manasquan vs. Rumson high school football game -- more than $6000, officials say -- to local disaster relief efforts.
The Belmar mayor and Council are scheduled to meet 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, in Borough Hall, 601 Main Street.
The governing body is expected to introduce a $29 million bond ordinance to fund rescontruction of the boardwalk and beachfront.
A $2 million bond ordinance to fund improvements to the 13th Avenue water and sewer mains also is up for introduction, the agenda says.
Two accompanying draft resolutions on the agenda authorize the funding of both projects as emergency appropriations.
A third draft resolution would authorize the use of emergency appropriations to fund "various emergency needs" resulting from Superstorm Sandy.
The appropriations would cover borough operations and protecting the "health, safety and welfare" of residents, the draft resolution says.
