Hard to find a storm drain not backed up even at lowest of tides. Ride past many that are holding water when the table is well below, they're just full of leaves sand and sludge with puddles of water around clogged drain cover openings and curb. No preventative maintenance whatsoever. Everything is reactionary not pro active. Keepn' Manasquan Manasquan.

All of this over a stupid sign? One not paid for with tax dollars? Who cares. We live in an information and technology age. There should probably be 4-5 of these around town in various places for convenience & safety. Yes, town is broken & falling part. Yes, we have a drug problem (who doesn't.). Yes, school sticks head in sand, still. Yes, we need better facilities for kids but dunce cap Mayor would rather create asphalt city. But we have crappy rows of dilapidated houses all over. Broken streets that don't drain & full of pot holes. Docks virtually unusable. No dunes for storm protection. Shitty water. Neighbors that don't mow grass or take pride in their own homes & slumlords who haven't spent 50 cents on their rentals since the storm. 3rd Ave is a disgusting sight of falling apart homes. But bully morons walking around with petitions to remove something designated for safety. The new sign is no different than all of those examples, if you don't like it don't look at it. Or like "Pete" said, move on.

Yes, taxpayers didn't pay for it but, wow, $21,000 of donated money that could have been so much better spent. That said, even though I don't like it I'd never sign a petition to have the sign removed. That would be more money wasted. At least we'll know what the temperature is now. Oh wait, did they fix that? The last time I looked it was off by about 10 degrees.
