Manasquan Council Moves Forward On Third Avenue Lot

Manasquan Council has authorized the advertising and bidding for the reconstruction of the Third Avenue Parking Lot.

According to Manasquan officials, who approved the action on Monday:

The reconfigured parking lot calls for a central entrance and exit from Third Avenue manned by one kiosk to accommodate this controlled arrangement.  Access on Riddle Way from Second Avenue will be restricted.

In essence Riddle Way from Second Ave will be modified to a Dead End. However, the parking lot will be configured to allow exiting through a manually operated emergency gate to allow exiting from larger events.

his configuration will allow for improved pedestrian safety to and from the beachfront. The parking lot calls for 147 spots including 5 which will be handicap ADA accessible.

Weather permitting, the project will be completed before the 2014 Beach Season.

Parking fees will not change for the 2014 Season.

An aerial view of the existing lot and the new plans are shown below for your review. Please forward your comments and questions to jdeiorio@manasquan-nj.com

Yeah, Squan Plaza is like a war zone. As far as the Third Avenue parking lot goes...as is, the entrances to both lots are directly across from each other, so the attendant can see all entering cars. Just do some re-grading to stop the puddling problem and repave. Don't waste any more money than is necessary.
