Manasquan Churches Hosting 'Next Steps to Recovery' for Sandy Victims

Event to feature FEMA, OEM and other experts Sunday

A two-hour presentation will aim to equip victims of Hurricane Sandy with information on how to navigate the months ahead, as residents file claims, rebuild property and work toward normalcy.

The presentation, Sunday Dec. 9, will feature speakers across a wide variety of fields: FEMA, OEM, counselors, mold specialists and more.

The Churches of the Manasquan Area Ministerium will host the informational forum for people who have been affected by Hurricane Sandy. The meeting,  entitled “Next Steps to Recovery,” is on Sunday, Dec. 9 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, with a presentation at 5 p.m.

Organizers described the meeting this way: "The hope is to provide needed information about the recovery process and to determine current and future needs of those impacted by the storm. Invited speakers include: local government, OEM, FEMA, support counselors, mold / storm remediation specialists, etc."

In addition to brief presentations to the group, each speaker will be available for questions and answers in small groups following the large group meeting.
