Sea Girt Library 20th Anniversary BBQ fundraiser

Press Release: Sea Girt Library – 20th Anniversary BBQ and Fundraiser
The Sea Girt Library will host a 20th Anniversary BBQ and Fundraiser on Saturday May 5th from 12 – 3pm (Rain date of May 6th). The event is to commemorate the library and help to ensure it’s success in the future.   It will feature live music, kids activities such as face painting and games, as well as hamburgers, hot dogs and refreshments.  Sea Girt resident Sean Barry is organizing the festivities.
The BBQ event is kicking off what will be a year of fundraising efforts for the library, which is in need of ongoing financial support.  Enjoyed by children and adults alike, the former train station provides a cozy atmosphere for reading and hosts many events for kids throughout the year.
For those attending a $10 donation for adults and $5 for children is requested.  Organizers are also looking for corporate and personal sponsors for the event.  Anyone interested in sponsoring or volunteering should contact Sean Barry at 732 492-1963.

On May 13th, 1992, the Sea Girt Library opened its doors to the local community. The free public library service was made possible after receiving a generous gift from Sara Zock. Today, the library continues to be funded by a trust fund, individual donations and friends of the library. The  library is staffed by a group of local volunteers and managed by librarian Lynn Kroll, who has been in charge of the Sea Girt Library for over a year. The library staff has created a welcome environment where Sea Girt's residents and members can congregate to relax and choose books of varied interest.
