Deadline for Disaster Assistance Through FEMA Extended Through Jan. 30
Disaster Recovery Centers will be closed Christmas Day.
The deadline to apply to receive individual disaster assistance through FEMA has been extended from Dec. 31, 2012 to Jan. 30, 2013, state officials announced Tuesday.
Additionally, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Disaster Recovery Centers will be closed on Christmas Day. They will reopen on Wednesday, Dec. 26, officials said.
The centers will close at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 24 and will remain closed on Tuesday, Dec. 25.

In Belmar, a DRC is open in borough hall, Main Street.
The centers were open for the benefit of victims of Superstorm Sandy in the days following the storm.
