The Manasquan Council on Monday agreed that the site of the Berry Festival will change from the Squan Plaza to the South Street plaza because of ongoing construction in the Squan Plaza.

The Berry Festival will take place on Aug. 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Manasquan.

Pam Patullo, owner of Yellow Daisy and events coordinator, expects the Berry Festival to be a success.

"This event is for all ages and it'll be a great day for everybody," said Patullo. "So come early and get your goodies."

This is the fifth annual Berry festival in Manasquan and it's become very popular in the past few years.

"Each year there has been a substantial amount of people from the public who come every year and we actually had all of our goodies sold out for last few years," said Patullo.

This event is run by Manasquan seniors who donate their time by baking homemade goods such as strawberry shortcakes, strawberry pies, berry pies, berry cakes, and additional baked goods.

"The goal of this event is to make money so the Manasquan seniors can pay for live entertainment at their meetings and Christmas parties," added Patullo.
This annual event is always held on the first Sunday of August.
