4th Congressional District candidate speaks at Seabrook Village

Fourth Congressional District candidate Brian Froelich kicked off his campaign Monday afternoon in Tinton Falls.

Froelich, of Spring Lake, is a Democrat who is facing off against incumbent Rep. Chris Smith. Smith, a Republican, has been in office for 32 years.

Froelich spoke before a crowd of seniors at Seabrook Village, a retirement community in Tinton Falls, about Medicare, Medicaid and how he plans to keep costs down for seniors.

Froelich highlighted the effects that the proposed House budget plan would have on seniors.

"We need a congressman that will stand up for Seniors and protect Medicare, Medicaid, and programs that assist seniors living on fixed incomes," Froelich said. "We need to judge our congressmen on big, not small issues and on facts, not myths."
