Christie Coming To St. Rose High School On Anniversary of Superstorm Sandy

Gov. Chris Christie is scheduled to come to Belmar on Tuesday, the first anniversary of the arrival of Superstorm Sandy.

Christie is scheduled to make a 4 p.m. appearance at St. Rose High School, according to a message sent home to St. Rose parents.

St. Rose High School was hard hit by the storm. The first floor of the 8th Avenue parochial school was inundated with water and sea life caught up in the storm surge.

When nine feet of water was finally emptied, hundreds of fish and two sea turtles were found inside the school. The school’s cafeteria, which also serves the nearby grammar school, was re-opened just weeks ago.
