Belmar Marina To Receive $270,000 Federal Grant

A Boating Infrastructure Grant from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will help repair the marina to pre-Superstorm sandy levels.

The Belmar marina is getting a $270,000 from the federal government to repair damage from Superstorm Sandy.

The Boating Infrastructure Grant, a competitive annual grant offered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and administered in New Jersey by the state Department of Transportation, will help Belmar repair docks and gangways, floating fuel dock, utilities and other facilities, according to the federal agency. A new security system and wifi will also be installed.

Belmar was among three New Jersey marinas to receive the grants in the second round of funding for the 2013 allotment of $6.9 million doled to six states and one U.S. territory.
