Want To Prevent Another Manasquan Sandy-Like Disaster? Let The Town Know

Manasquan is currently conducting a 5-year update to the Borough’s hazard mitigation plan, and wants the public's input.

From Manasquan officials:

What is hazard mitigation?

Hazard mitigation is “any action taken to reduce or eliminate the long-term risk to human life and property from natural hazards.”

We are in the process of updating our hazard mitigation strategy, and we are seeking your input. Mitigation strategies are actions undertaken to reduce our vulnerabilities to natural hazards (ie: hurricanes & nor’easters such as Superstorm Sandy).
These strategies can include zoning & ordinance changes, elevating structures, roadways, flood-proofing critical facilities & infrastructure, upgrading public warning & communication systems… really any action that the Borough can undertake which would reduce the risk to life or property when the next natural disaster strikes.

We realize that the best ideas can come from within our community, and as such are seeking your input. Please share your ideas on how to make Manasquan more resilient to future natural hazards by emailing the Office of Emergency Management at oem@manasquan-nj.com (put Hazard Mitigation as the subject line).

Please be sure to get your comments to us by March 18th.
