Wall Man Busted For Drugs Near School; Found With More Than $5,000, Cops Say

Kyle J. DiBenedetto, 19, of I Street, is charged with third degree possession of controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute marijuana in a quantity in excess of 50 grams within 1000 feet of a school zone.

A 19-year-old Wall man was arrested on drug charges near a school zone Thursday after he was found with 800 grams of marijuana and more than $5,000, police said. 

Kyle J. DiBenedetto, 19, of I Street, is charged with third degree possession of controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute marijuana in a quantity in excess of 50 grams within 1000 feet of a school zone.

He also was charged with third degree possession of controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute marijuana in a quantity in excess of 50 grams, and fourth degree Possession of marijuana in a quantity in excess of 50 grams and possession of paraphernalia.

DiBenedetto is currently being held in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, Freehold Township, on $21,800 bail, with no 10 percent option, as set by Wall Township Municipal Court Judge Joseph F. DeFino.

Detective Michael Steitz and Patrolman Miles Shanklin assisted Patrolman Daniel Santoro and Patrolman Jay Baker with the investigation.
