A Wall home with a lightning rod on the roof was, indeed, struck by lightning during severe thunderstorms on Monday, police said.

Police went to investigate a reported structure fire caused by a lightning strike at 1206 Hemlock Avenue during the storm, Sgt. Erik Ertle said. An investigation revealed that a lightning rod on top of the home was, in fact, struck by lightning however there was no fire.

Members of the South Wall Fire Department responded to examine the home and found all to be in order, Ertle said. There were no injuries or structural damage to the home.
