One Town, Two Weeks, 650 Police Tickets
Belmar Police write up nearly 450 parking tickets during first half of June
Belmar Police during the first half of June issued nearly 650 motor vehicle tickets and borough ordinance summonses, according to a department release.
Police between June 4 and June 17 wrote up 215 ordinance summonses and 529 motor vehicle summonses, the release says.
The ordinance summonses included violations for noise, housing, alcoholic beverage control, lewdness, urinating, disorderly and other miscellaneous offenses, the release says.

The motor vehicle summonses included moving and parking violations. Nearly 450 of these were parking tickets, the release says.
Police also responded to 25 motor vehicle accidents in the borough during the same two-week period, the release says. It is unclear how many accidents resulted in summonses being issued.

During the two-week period between June 4 and June 17, Belmar Police issued the following summonses:

- 33 noise violations
- 29 housing violations
- 84 alcoholic beverage control (ABC) violations
- 13 beach/boardwalk violations
- 26 lewdness/urinating violations
- 30 miscellaneous/disorderly violations
-- 529 motor vehicle summonses
- 86 moving violations
- 443 parking violations
