Two Teens Injured in Car Crash Outside Brielle Police Department

Tyler Kowalski and Travis Lelievre, both 19, of Ocean County, transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center

A pair of Ocean County teens found themselves in Jersey Shore University Medical Center Saturday night, recovering from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle accident outside the Brielle Police Department earlier that evening.

Sgt. Mike Mechler of the Brielle Police characterized the accident as a one-vehicle collision, which took place just before 6 p.m. Saturday. The vehicle was traveling westbound on Union Lane when the crash occurred, according to the sergeant.

The car’s driver was 19 year-old Tyler Kowalski of Manchester, accompanied by a passenger, Travis Lelievre, also 19, of Toms River. The two teens were transported by the Brielle First Aid Squad to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for their injuries, but the extent of those injuries is unknown at this time.
