Traffic Stops Lead to Drug Arrests on Route 71

Police nab area people for marijuana, heroin possession

Wall Police recently made several arrests for illegal drug possession as a result of traffic stops on Route 71, authorities said.

Cynthia G. Mapp, 48, and George A. Mapp III, both of Brielle, were arrested and charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana following a traffic stop on Route 71 around 9:32 p.m. Jan. 25, Sgt. Steven Wolter said.

Zoe F. McDermott, 18, of Belmar, was arrested and charged with illegal possession of prescription medication following a traffic stop on Route 71 around 11:10 p.m. Jan. 25, Wolter said.

Christopher Callahan, 23, of Brick, was arrested and charged with possession of heroin and Suboxone following a traffic stop on Route 35 around 1:55 a.m. Jan 26, Wolter said.
