Spring Lake Heights Police Make Five Drug Arrests in March

Spring Lake Heights Police report the following activity from March 1, 2013 to March 31:

Total first aid calls – 30, Motor Vehicle Accidents – 6, Fire Department calls - 3.

March 1, 2013 at 11:30pm Ptl. Kenneth Hager stopped a vehicle in the 000 block of Hwy 71 for motor vehicle violations. The driver, Ellen R. Masonius 18, of Spring Lake was arrested for possession of alcoholic beverages under the legal age, open alcoholic beverages in a motor vehicle and an outstanding warrant. A passenger in the vehicle Jack R. Whipple 18, of Spring Lake was arrested after being found in possession of CDS, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of alcoholic beverages under the legal age. Three other passengers - Zachary R. Sinisi 18, of Manasquan, Matthew J. Keating 19, of Manasquan, and Alicia M. Piatti 18, of Spring Lake were charged with possession of alcoholic beverages under the legal age. Two 17 year old juveniles who were also passengers were taken into custody and turned over to their parents. Ptl. Hager and Ptl. Travis Ventimiglia made the arrests.

March 3, 2013 at 1:00am Ptl. Kenneth Hager stopped a 16 year old juvenile in the 300 block of Hwy 71 who was operating a bicycle erratically and without a helmet. Following the on scene investigation the JV was taken into custody after being found in possession of CDS. Juvenile Charges were sent to Monmouth County Family Division and the JV was released to their parent.

March 3, 2013 at 5:23pm Ptl. Zachary Ramp stopped a vehicle in the 1000 block of Hwy 71 for motor vehicle violations. The driver was an unlicensed 16 year old juvenile from Wall Township. The JV was arrested for DWI. Additionally juvenile charges were sent to Monmouth County Family Court for possession of CDS and drug paraphernalia. The JV was released to their guardian.

March 4, 2013 at 4:15pm Louis Kettle 44, of Wall Twp was arrested for Assault following an investigation in the 600 block of 6th Ave.  Ptl. Raymond Kwiatkowski made the arrest.

March 8, 2013 at 6:00am Carmen Jimenez, 29 of Belmar was arrested for Possession of a Counterfeit Government Document following a motor vehicle stop in the 900 block of Ocean Road.  Ptl. Casey Willms made the arrest.

March 8, 2013 at 10:15pm Nochus Berry, 43 of Neptune was arrested for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle following a motor vehicle stop in the 2400 block of Hwy 71.  Berry was operating a rental vehicle which was reported stolen in December 2012.  Ptl. Kenneth Hager made the arrest.

March 16, 2013 at 10:41pm Spring Lake Heights Police responded to a fight call in the 600 block of Sussex Ave.  Following the on-scene investigation Patrick A. Gomes, 19 of Manasquan was arrested for Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Ptl. Kenneth Hager made the arrest.

March 18, 2013 Spring Lake Heights Police took a report of a Stolen Vehicle from a residence in the 700 block of Ocean Road.  An alert was sent to surrounding towns to be on the lookout for the stolen 2001 silver Acura MDX.  Within an hour the vehicle was located in Freehold Township crashed into a utility pole.  The driver fled the scene but was apprehended a short time later by Officers from Freehold Twp.  Spring Lake Heights Police Sgt. Andrew O’Neill and Det. Raymond Kwiatkowski conducted the investigation leading to the arrest of Michael Gratzel 18, of Manasquan.  Gratzel was charged with Burglary and Theft of Motor Vehicle by Spring Lake Heights Police and Possession of Stolen Property by Freehold Twp.

March 19, 2013 at 10:41am Justin Rubinstein, 37 of Belmar was arrested for Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Outstanding Criminal Warrants following a motor vehicle stop in the 1000 block of Allaire Road.  Ptl. Thomas Kenny made the arrest.      

March 21, 2013 at 10:23pm Spring Lake Heights Police responded to the 500 block of Church Street for a reported Motor Vehicle Accident.  Upon their arrival they encountered a utility pole and wires down in the road and on fire.  Spring Lake Heights Fire Company and Spring Lake EMS also responded.  Ptl. Casey Willms, the Department Traffic Officer and member of the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART) conducted the on-scene investigation.  Following the investigation Adam S. Mitchell, 28 of Neptune was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Suspended, and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.  Ptl. Willims made the arrest.

March 24, 2013 at 1:45am Felipe Cabrera, 29 of Lakewood was arrested and charged with possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances (cocaine and marijuana), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia(digital scale), and Drug Distribution following an investigation of a suspicious vehicle in the 400 block of Old Mill Road.  Ptl. Kenneth Hager made the arrest.

March 31, 2013 at 9:15pm Elizabeth A. Murtagh, 50 of Cliffside Park was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Providing False Information to Law Enforcement in the 600 block of Mercer Ave.  Ptl. Zachary Ramp made the arrest.
