Services For Brielle Woman Killed By NYC Taxi Cabs To Be Held In Brick, Red Bank

Services for a 22-year-old Brielle woman who was struck and killed by two taxi cabs in New York City Thursday will be held this week in Brick and Red Bank, according to O’Brien Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road in Brick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at St. James Roman Catholic Church, 94 Broad St., Red Bank.

Kelly Anne Gordon lived in Rumson before moving to Brielle. She was a 2010 graduate of Red Bank Catholic High School. She went on to attend Boston College where she was scheduled to graduate on May 19 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and concentrations in Finance, Marketing, and Management and Leadership, according to the funeral home.

She was on the Investment Board of Smart Woman Securities, and she was actively involved in raising funds for Relay for Life, according to the funeral home.

Gordon was said to have had an entrepreneurial spirit, starting several small businesses, and loved to bake for everyone in her free time. "Her love for life was contagious and her ambition inspired everyone around her," according to the funeral home.

Surviving are her parents, Lorraine Zimmermann and her husband Michael, Donald Gordon, Jr. and wife Robin. Also her siblings, Ali Gordon, Donald Gordon, III, Madison Zimmermann, Emily Zimmermann, and step-sisters, Ali Axt and Kendall Axt; grandparents, Anton & Ursula Mayer, and Lillian Gordon, and Jane Zimmermann; as well as her cousins Bradley, Amy, Geoffrey, Nicholas, Colin and Christopher. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Kelly’s honor be directed to Boston College for the Kelly Gordon Memorial Fund. Gifts can be made online at www.bc.edu/give or mailed to Boston College, Office of University Advancement, Cadigan Alumni Center, 140 Commonwealth Avenue, Chestnut Hill, MA 02467, according to the funeral home.
