Several dozen JCP&L customers in multiple towns woke this morning to find intermittent power outages. The utility company is projecting the issue to be resolved by 11:30 a.m.
Spring Lake Heights, Brielle, Sea Girt, Manasquan and Belmar each had reported outages affecting 20 or so customers from each town, according to today's power outage map from the electric company.
The Spring Lake Heights outage was related to infrastructure work. At 9:30 the Sea Girt-Manasquan outage, reported around Washington, was pending investigation and another outage was reported west of Route 70 in Brielle near Riverside.
Spring Lake Heights Police posted this morning about the issue, encouraging residents to call JCP&L to report outages:
"Many residents are waking up to intermittent power outages this morning. This is affecting our town and many neighboring areas. Power company has been notified. Source of the problem is reported to be in the Belmar area leaking out to the grid in the area. If your power is going out, please contract JCPL at 1-888-544-4877."
