Manasquan Police Investigating Stolen BBQ Grill

Witnesses say two men in broad daylight loaded resident's grill into red SUV

Manasquan police are looking for two suspects in an alleged theft of a barbecue grill, authorities said.

On Sept. 10, a Whiting Avenue resident returned home from work that evening to discover the Weber grill from the back deck was missing, Police Chief Elliott Corrreia said.

Neighbors reported seeing two men load the grill into an SUV that afternoon, thinking it was nothing out of the ordinary, Correia said.

Witnesses said that between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. a red Ford Expedition pulled up to the house and two white males exited, according to Correia.

One was described as wearing a white shirt with a hardware company name on the back, while the other apparently was dressed in a blue polo shirt, Correia said.

Witnesses said the men casually walked into the backyard, took the grill and loaded it into the back of the SUV and then drove away, according to Correia.

Correia said residents should call borough police if they ever see anything out of the ordinary.

"We would rather come check to find out it's nothing," he said.
