Convicted Sex Offender Arrested for Violating Parole

James Darby, 35, didn't report to parole officer or live at approved residence, authorities say

A convicted sex offender residing near Belmar was arrested Tuesday after authorities say he skipped parole and failed to report his address.

James Darby, 35, who the county lists as homeless with a last known address in Lake Como, failed to notify law enforcement of an address change, as all convicted sex offenders in the state are required, the complaint says.

Darby's parole officer on Sept. 7 filed a complaint with Belmar police accusing him of not showing up for a scheduled parole meeting, not living at a pre-approved address, and illegally possessing and using narcotics, the complaint says.
