Ocean Grove Hosting NJ Police Memorial

28th annual service scheduled for May 22 at the Great Auditorium

The New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police (NJSACOP) is scheduled to host the 28th Annual Statewide Law Enforcement Memorial Service for officers who have died in the line of duty at the Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 22.

Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno will give the keynote speech, and Attorney General Paula Dow will speak on behalf of the law enforcement community, officials said.  

"The Memorial Service brings together the entire law enforcement community and the public for a day of solemn remembrance," the release says.

All members of the law enforcement community, their family and friends, and the public at large "are welcome and greatly encouraged to attend," the release says. No RSVP is required.

  • Detective Tina Rambo, Ocean County Prosecutor's Office — Aug. 1, 2011
  • Patrolman Joseph S. Wargo Jr., Mount Arlington Police — Oct. 16, 2011
  • Det. Michael Morgan Jr., Newark Police — Nov. 7, 2011
