Monmouth, Brick Residents Indicted in Conspiracy, Burglary

Monmouth county grand jury handed up indictment this week

A group including six Howell residents and one from Brick face several charges after indictments were handed up by a Monmouth County Grand Jury following an incident of conspiracy and burglary in Howell and Millstone last year. 

The Howell residents are Nicholas E. Formica, 18, of Bunkerhill Drive, Roger E. Jones, 18, of Ford Road, Suquan I. Nolan, 18, of Peackock Place, Joseph H. Valenti, 19, of Kent Road, Kevin C. Mikkelson, 29, of Kent Road, Brandon J. Iuzzolino, 21 of Mistaire Place and Chad A. Clune, 19 of Starboard Road in Brick. 

The first count of the indictment is a charge of second degree conspiracy filed against Formica, Jones, Nolan and Valenti. According to the indictment on or about October 15, 2012 they are alleged to have agreed to commit the crime of burglary or theft or unlawful possession of a weapon while in Millstone.

Jones, Nolan and Valenti were also indicted on one count of second degree burglary. The indictment alleges that they illegally entered a residence in Millstone. Jones and Nolan also are charged with one count of fourth degree unlawful possession of a weapon when they were found to be in possession of a knife at that time.

Jones, Nolan and Valenti are also facing one count of second degree unlawful possession of a weapon for allegedly having a handgun without a permit as well.

The fifth count of the indictment is for third degree theft of movable property charges filed against Jones, Nolan and Valenti. They are alleged to have taken several weapons including a Rugar GP100 .357 revolver, a .45 caliber Springfield 1911 and a .40 caliber Glock 35 as well as a 9mm Springfield XDM.

A sixth count in the indictment is for the charge of second degree theft of movable property. Jones, Nolan and Valenti are alleged to have taken money valued at $75,000 or more. Mikkelson faces one count of third degree receiving stolen property for knowingly bringing in or receiving $500 in cash.

Clune faces one count of third degree burglary for incidents in Howell between October 15, 2012 and November 19, 2012. During that time he is alleged to have illegally entered a garage in the township. He is also charged with one count of third degree theft of movable property for allegedly taking money in excess of $500 during that time. 

The third charge against Clune is one count of third degree receiving stolen property for receiving $500 in cash. 

Iuzzolino faces one count of third degree receiving stolen property for allegedly receiving in excess of $500 in cash on or about October 18, 2012 in Millstone. The twelfth count of the indictment is for one charge of third degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance against Nolan. On or about October 18, 2012 Nolan was allegedly found in Howell heroin. 

The thirteenth and final count is a charge of third degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance against Mikkelson. On or about October 18, 2012 he was allegedly found in Howell with heroin and or alprazolam.
