Manasquan Police Make Several Theft Arrests

Also investigating attempted burglary on Whiting Avenue

Manasquan police last week arrested several individuals on shoplifting and theft charges, authorities said. 

Police also investigated an attempted burglary on Whiting Avenue, according to a department release.

Among the arrested were three individuals under the age of 18 including a pair of 14-year-old girls charged with shoplifting, the release says.

A 17-year-old from Avon was arrested on theft charges, the release says. 

Police made the following arrests between Sept. 30 and Oct. 7:

  • Donna Athey, 52, of Wall, was arrested Oct. 2 on East Main Street and charged with shoplifting. Patrolman Kenneth Hamill made the arrest.  
  • A 17-year-old Avon boy was arrested Oct. 2 on Broad Street and charged with theft and receiving stolen property. Det. Adam Pharo made the arrest.  
  • Two 14-year-old Manasquan girls were arrested Oct. 8 on East Main Street and charged with shoplifting. Patrolman Kenneth Hamill made both arrests.  
  • Police on Oct. 2 investigated an attempted burglary on Whiting Avenue. Patrolman William Sutton made the initial investigation.
