Manasquan Police Make Five DWI Arrests

Alleged drunken drivers charged last week in the borough

Manasquan police last week arrested five individuals on charges of driving while intoxicated, authorities said. 

One of the alleged drunken drivers was also charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, according to a release from the Manasquan Police Department. 

The following individuals were arrested and charged by police between Aug. 12 and Aug. 19:

  • Dennis Joy, 63, of Irvington, was arrested Aug. 13 on Second Avenue and charged with DWI. Special Officer Jesse Waterson made the arrest. 
  • Stephen Behringer, 21, of Wall, was arrested Aug. 18 on Central Avenue and charged with DWI and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Patrolman Thomas Morton made the arrest. 
  • Michelle Amogretti, 39, of Brick, was arrested Aug. 18 on Brielle Road and charged with DWI. Special Officer Mark McGowan made the arrest.  
  • Eric Kohut, 30, of Fairlawn, was arrested Aug. 19 on Highway 71 and charged with DWI. Patrolman Robert Wagner made the arrest. 
  • Caitlin Burkard, 18, of Spring Lake, was arrested Aug. 19 on McLean Avenue and charged with DWI. Sgt. Michael Stoia made the arrest.
