Wall, Neptune residents accused of stealing railroad ties in Spring Lake

Two local residents were indicted by a Superior Court grand jury this week for allegedly stealing railroad ties from train tracks in Spring Lake, documents show. 

Antoinett M. Perrone, 21, of Wall, and Evan C. Lied, 26, of Neptune, were indicted Wednesday on theft and fencing charges after allegedly stealing and trafficking the railroad ties on various dates between Dec. 2, 2011 and January 16, the indictment says. 

The ties, valued at over $500, were stolen from Spring Lake and fenced in Neptune and Red Bank, the indictment says.

The pair face third-degree charges of theft of movable property and fencing. 

The indictment was signed by County Prosecutor Peter E. Warshaw Jr.
