Local Teens Charged With Burglary

While residents on vacation, youths use home for party

A group of local teens has been charged with burglary and theft for allegedly using an unoccupied Manasquan home to throw a house party, police said.

While its residents were on vacation, three teenagers from Spring Lake, Manasquan and Brielle were arrested Aug. 15 after police responded to calls from neighbors of the North Jackson Avenue home, Chief Elliott Correia said.

The youths allegedly used a ladder to climb into a second-story window to gain access to the home. Once inside, the teens partied for two nights, drinking the homeowners' liquor, Correia said.
