The owner of McCann's Tavern is charged with allegedly assaulting a man at the tavern at 1704 Main St., Lake Como, police said Tuesday afternoon.

"When officers arrived at the scene, they observed an assault taking place. Thomas McCann, 52, the owner, was physically assaulting the subject who had urinated on the building. The victim had to be transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center and be treated for head trauma."

Police filed the charged after a "detailed investigation," bail was set at $15,000, with 10 percent and McCann posted bail and was released, police said.

The other man, Patrick Degano, 49, was charged with urinating in public, police said.

It's legal to piss on someone else's property in South Belmar, isn't it?

I understand the man's feelings totally, but losing his temper was not wise. He can now be sued by this piece of scum. Personally; I would have given the creep a choice of scrubbing the wall clean(In this weather that would be a real punishment) or facing criminal charges.
