Lake Como Man Pleads Guilty To Distributing Child Pornography

A Lake Como man pleaded guilty Friday to distribution of child pornography following his arrest last month, announced Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.

Timothy Best, 27, pleaded guilty to second degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Distribution of Child Pornography) before Judge John T. Mullaney, Jr., J.S.C. Sentencing is scheduled for June 20, 2014. Best remains held in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, Freehold Township, on $80,000 bail.

Best was arrested on March 4, 2014, following an investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit after receiving several CyberTips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). When pleading guilty, Best admitted that he uploaded two images of child pornography to AirG, a mobile chat application.
