Manasquan P.B.A. Fishing Tourney Saturday
Registration opens at 8:15 a.m. at Mac's Pond for kids ages 3-13
The 43rd Annual Manasquan Policemens Benevolent Association Children's Fishing Tournament is set for Saturday, May 5, at 9 a.m., organizers said.
Registration for the tournament, free for area kids ages three to 13, opens at 8:15 a.m. at Mac's Pond, North Main Street, Det. Adam Pharo said.
Fishing runs from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., after which lunch and prizes will be doled out until noon, said Pharo, the tournament's organizer.

Pharo said he expect between 100 and 130 kids to compete in three age groups (3-6, 7-10 and 11-13) for prizes of most unique catch, first fish, biggest fish and most fish.
Trophies will be handed to the top young fishermen in each age group as well as to the overall winners in each category, Pharo said.

Free worms will be provided to each youngster for bait, Pharo said.
Several local sponsors, including the Manasquan Elks, Chamber of Commerce, Tourism Commission and Turkey Trot, are providing prizes for the competition, Pharo said.
