Cops: public should not approach suspect in stabbing, robbery case

Brick police released a sketch of a man who is Monday night.

Police were called to 150 Brick Boulevard around 10 p.m. Monday, where they found a woman in her car who told them a man who appeared intoxicated had pulled her out of her vehicle, held a knife to her throat and eventually stabbed her in her side.

The man robbed her of the contents of her pocketbook during the incident, she told police.

Brick and other local police departments, including K-9 units and a State Police helicopter, searched for hours but could not find the man, who the victim said fled toward the area of Lions Head Office Park on foot.

Sgt. Henry Drew said Wednesday that the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous, and people should not approach him.
